To take the guesswork out for you, Miele has added their TimeStrip® to the side of the Active AirClean filter. The TimeStrip® will let you know when a year is up so you can replace your Active AirClean filter with a new one. If you vacuum more often than normal the recommended replacement time is after every 50 hours of use rather than once a year.
