Boston Plantain (Plantago lanceolata) is a hardy, cool-season perennial herb with narrow green leaves and upright flower stalks. Grows 12–18" tall in zones 4–9. Used as a medicinal herb, soil-enhancing cover crop, or forage for cattle and sheep. Sow 0.25–0.5" deep; thin to 12". Broadcast 8–10 lbs/acre or drill 6–8 lbs/acre. Boston Plantain improves soil compaction, suppresses weeds, and thrives in poor soils. Ideal in no-till mixes when tilled for termination. Forage-friendly and immune-supporting, this herb also aids gut health and deters pests like slugs. Not for use in AK, CA, IA, MI due to invasiveness.
